Isle of Us acknowledges the journey towards greater sustainability is ongoing. We strive to be conscious of our impact upon the planet and wherever possible work to reduce our footprint.

We aim to develop a lifestyle destination and product offering that fosters a new kind of urban ecosystem committed to building community that is educated and enriched by food that is nourishing for the body and the planet.

ROOTED IN ACTION

Guided by these beliefs, Isle of Us is committed to the following practices:

  • Working with our producers to reduce the impact of their supply chain, both through packaging and sourcing hyper-locally when possible.

  • Adhering to an active recycling and commercial composting program reducing our footprint when possible.

  • Maximizing all ingredients in food production to reduce organic waste.

  • Utilizing packaging that is made using only post-consumer waste recyclable plastic (PCW) or compostable plant fibers.

  • Reducing our dependence on plastic supplies, both in the back-of-house, as well as consumer facing.

  • Not serving beef, pork, or shrimp because of the harmful effects sourcing them has on the planet.

  • Using traditional preserving techniques to extend the seasonality of local products.

  • Sell sustainable home supplies to enable customers to easily make better purchasing decisions.
